Progress Through Processors is a distributed computing platform that is delivered through Facebook. The project teams with Grid Republic, which has been distributing a BOINC account manager for years.

This project, while not new in its technology (it distributes work from malariacontrol.net, rosetta@home, and climatepredication.net), is novel in its approach as it is the first to harness the growing power of social networking.  This is an idea that aims to solve one of volunteer computing's biggest hurdles, spreading the word to users.
